Wattnow

Wattnow is a Tunisian climate-tech startup founded in 2018 by Issam Smaali that provides an IoT-based smart energy management system for industrial sites and commercial buildings. Plug-and-play smart meters capture real-time energy consumption data, which is processed by machine-learning algorithms to detect anomalies, forecast usage and recommend savings; the results are presented on a cloud-based dashboard where facility managers can visualize consumption, automate certain loads, and receive alerts. Founded in Tunis, the company has since opened offices in Amsterdam, Toulouse and Casablanca and serves clients in more than 11 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and North America. In September 2024 it closed a multi-million-dollar funding round led by Lateral Frontiers with participation from E3 Capital, 216 Capital, Outlierz Ventures, Satgana and Octerra Capital, bringing disclosed funding to at least $1.8 million.
