VAIS (Visual and AI Solutions) is an Egyptian deep-tech company that builds proprietary geospatial analytics for precision and climate-smart agriculture. It processes large volumes of multi-modal, multi-spectral satellite imagery to perform sensor-free monitoring of Earth's surface and sub-surface conditions. Through its FarmGuru SaaS platform, VAIS gives farmers and agribusinesses irrigation-intelligence recommendations (reported to reduce irrigation water use by up to 40%) and crop-monitoring tools aimed at improving yield. The company was founded in 2020 by Karim Amer and Mohammed Elhelw, and has been supported by regional accelerator and innovation programs, including a World Food Programme innovation sprint for agtech startups in the MENA region.
