The Chefz

The Chefz is a Saudi Arabia-based food and gifting delivery platform focused on premium restaurants, bakeries, chocolatiers and dessert shops, offering delivery as well as table reservations across more than 12,000 venues in cities including Riyadh, Jeddah, Mecca, the Eastern Province, Al-Ahsa, Tabuk and Buraydah, via web and iOS/Android apps. In November 2022, Saudi food-delivery company Jahez announced a 100% acquisition of The Chefz for approximately $172.9 million (about SR650 million), paid in a mix of cash and newly issued Jahez shares, a deal that closed in 2023 after regulatory approval; this followed an earlier, unsuccessful attempt by Delivery Hero to acquire The Chefz that was blocked by Saudi competition authorities. Despite the acquisition, The Chefz continues to operate as a distinct consumer-facing brand and app rather than being merged into Jahez's core platform.
