Tawazon
Arabic-language mindfulness app turned Social-Emotional Learning platform for schools.

Tawazon (Arabic for 'balance') is a Palestinian company founded in 2018 by Suna Zoabi-Othman that began as one of the first Arabic-language meditation and mindfulness apps, often compared to Calm, aimed at Arabic speakers for whom English-language wellness apps did not resonate culturally or linguistically. The company received a seed investment from Ibtikar Fund, a Palestine-focused venture capital fund. Over time Tawazon evolved from a consumer wellness app into a Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) platform for schools. It now offers evidence-based SEL programs for students in grades 5-12 covering topics such as bullying prevention, self-confidence, classroom safety, critical thinking, and time management, alongside professional development modules for teachers and school leadership covering staff training, team-building, and school culture assessment. Its mobile app, available on iOS and Android, retains meditation, mindfulness exercises, and daily emotional check-in tools for individual use.
