Books seats on shared buses and vans for daily commutes, intercity trips, and B2B/B2G transport.

Swvl operates a technology-enabled mass transit and ride-pooling platform that books seats on shared buses and vans for daily commutes, as well as intercity routes and B2B/B2G transport contracts for enterprises, governments, and schools. It was founded in Cairo, Egypt in 2017 by Mostafa Kandil, Ahmed Sabbah, and Mahmoud Nouh, then relocated its headquarters to Dubai, UAE in 2019 as it expanded internationally. Swvl went public on Nasdaq (ticker: SWVL) in March 2022 through a merger with SPAC Queen's Gambit Growth Capital, and has since restructured its operations — including layoffs and market exits such as its Pakistan shutdown — while continuing to run mass transit services and enterprise/government contracts across cities in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and Asia.
