Soum
Marketplace to buy and sell pre-owned electronics with buyer protection and 0% installments.

Soum is a Saudi Arabia-based re-commerce marketplace, founded in 2021 by Fahad Al Hassan, Fahad Albassam, and Bader Almubarak, that lets people buy and sell pre-owned electronics such as smartphones, laptops, tablets, smartwatches, cameras, and audio/video devices. The platform offers consumer protections including a 10-day return window and 0%-interest installment payment options, aiming to make second-hand electronics trustworthy for buyers while giving sellers a straightforward way to list devices. In December 2023, Soum raised an $18 million Series A round led by Saudi's Jahez Group with participation from New York-based Isometry Capital and existing investors Khwarizmi Ventures, AlRajhi Partners, and Outliers Venture Capital, bringing its total raised to $22 million across two rounds. The company has used the funding to expand beyond Saudi Arabia into the United Arab Emirates.
