Si-Ware Systems designs and manufactures MEMS-based miniature Fourier-Transform infrared (FT-IR) and near-infrared (NIR) spectrometers under the NeoSpectra brand. Founded in Cairo, Egypt in 2004, the company grew out of MEMS and photonics research and now maintains R&D operations in Cairo and Paris alongside a corporate office in Menlo Park, California. NeoSpectra sensors and modules — some as small as a deck of cards — let customers in agriculture, food, recycling, and oil-and-gas analyze material composition on-site instead of sending samples to a lab, paired with a cloud software layer (AgriLIMS) for managing devices and data. The company has won industry recognition including a Prism Award for test and measurement technology.
