Rology
FDA-cleared AI-accelerated teleradiology platform connecting hospitals with remote radiologists.
Rology is an Egypt-based healthtech company operating a cloud-based teleradiology platform across the Middle East and Africa. It was founded in 2017 by Amr Abodraiaa, Moaaz Hossam, Mahmoud Eldefrawy, and Bassam Khallaf to address a shortage of radiologists by matching hospitals with a network of remote radiologists who can work from anywhere with a laptop and internet connection, with zero setup cost for hospitals. The platform uses AI to accelerate diagnostic reporting across 12 sub-specialities and eight imaging modalities, and its underlying system is FDA 510(k)-cleared, which the company states makes it the only FDA-cleared teleradiology platform in the region. As of its December 2025 growth-round announcement, Rology reported having delivered over 1.3 million radiology reports to more than 300 hospitals in 13 countries, with results delivered in as little as 30 minutes and claimed cost savings of up to 25% for hospitals. In 2023 Rology acquired Saudi Arabia-based Arkan United, and it closed a growth funding round in December 2025 backed by the Philips Foundation, Johnson & Johnson Impact Ventures, Sanofi's Global Health Unit Impact Fund, and MIT Solve Innovation Future.
