Muqbis
A MENA marketplace where independent artisans sell handmade crafts directly to shoppers.

Muqbis is a multi-vendor e-commerce marketplace headquartered in Giza/Cairo, Egypt, that lets independent artisans and handcrafters across the Middle East and North Africa sell directly to consumers. It was founded in 2020 by Iman El Wasifi, Mohamed Nasser, and Kareem Hussein, and launched publicly in 2021, positioning itself as an 'Etsy of the MENA region.' The product catalog spans jewelry, accessories, mugs, embroidery, pottery, leatherwork, art paintings, plant art, and brasswork, sourced from individual makers rather than manufacturers or retailers. The company states its mission is to give handcrafters — particularly women in Egypt and the wider MEA region — a fair, accessible route to sell online and build sustainable income. Muqbis raised an undisclosed seed round from Nama Ventures in December 2022.
