KNOT Technologies is an AI-native ticketing and access-control platform for live events, founded in 2025 by Ahmed Abdalla and Hussein ElBendak, former employees of Meta, Goldman Sachs, and Mubadala. The company was initially set up in London, but the founders relocated to Cairo, Egypt to build it, choosing Egypt as a base to serve the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe. The platform applies AI to verify identity, distribute tickets, and track demand in real time, helping event organizers restrict unauthorized transfers, curb resale-market fraud, and retain control over pricing and access. KNOT raised a $1 million pre-seed round led by Cairo-based venture firm A15 in January 2026, reporting more than 50 enterprise clients and about 10 employees at the time, with plans to expand into the UAE and UK markets.
