Kashat
Egypt's first nano-lending app offering instant, paperless micro-loans to the unbanked.

Kashat is an Egyptian fintech company that operates a mobile app offering instant, short-term nano loans to unbanked and underbanked individuals across Egypt. Users apply using only a national ID and facial verification, with no paperwork required; loans are approved and disbursed within minutes through telecom and bank e-wallets, with typical loan sizes ranging from about EGP 200 up to roughly EGP 2,000 and flexible repayment plans that offer reduced fees for early repayment. Kashat was founded in Egypt (sources cite both 2018 and 2019) by Karim Nour and Sumair Farooqui and is licensed by Egypt's Financial Regulatory Authority. It raised a $1.75 million bridge round in 2021 led by Launch Africa with participation from Cairo Angels and other regional investors. In January 2025, Egyptian fintech Raseedi announced it had acquired Kashat (which owns the licensed lender Pharos Microfinance S.A.E.) to broaden its own instant-loan offerings; Kashat's own website and app continued operating under its own brand as of the most recent check.
