iStoria

iStoria is a Saudi edtech app that teaches English vocabulary and grammar through graded, story-based reading. It uses the Oxford Graded Readers series (100+ stories spanning beginner to advanced levels) combined with listening, speaking and pronunciation exercises, comprehension questions, and progress tracking, aiming to help learners acquire roughly 3,000 core words and reach an advanced level within about 8 months. The app is aimed at self-directed English learners across the Arabic-speaking world and reports over 1 million users globally. It was founded in Riyadh in 2022 by Abdullah Al-Jaberi, and in early 2024 raised a SR5 million (about $1.3 million) seed round from Nama Ventures, BIM Ventures, Flat6Labs and edtech firm Classera, among other angel investors. iStoria is available on iOS and Android under the App Store/Play Store name "Learn English Easily - iStoria," published under the developer name Oxford Academy Of Languages, Inc, and is free to download with in-app subscription plans (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual) for full content access.
