Hello World Kids
Gamified coding and STEM courses for children, used in Jordanian schools.

Hello World Kids is a Jordanian edtech company, founded in 2015 by Hanan Khader, that teaches programming and STEM skills to children roughly ages 6 to 16. It created SmoothY, a simplified programming language meant to act as a bridge before children move on to text-based languages like Python or JavaScript, and later launched HelloCode, a web-based platform that teaches coding through interactive storytelling and gamified, level-based challenges guided by cartoon characters. The company sells to schools on a B2B licensing basis and also offers individual subscription plans directly to parents. Its coding curriculum has been adopted by dozens of public and private schools in Jordan, and Jordan's Ministry of Education has agreed to incorporate it into the core curriculum. In December 2021, Hello World Kids closed a pre-Series A funding round led by Daam Al-Munsha'at Holding, Oman Technology Fund, and Vision Ventures.
