A peer-to-peer marketplace for renting and lending private cars across Egypt and the Gulf.
FriendyCar is a peer-to-peer car-sharing marketplace founded in 2016 and headquartered in Cairo, Egypt. It lets private car owners list their vehicles so verified renters can book them for a chosen period and distance, paying through an in-app digital payment system; owners earn income from otherwise idle vehicles while renters get access to a car without buying one. The company launched first in the UAE in 2017 before expanding to Cairo and Alexandria in Egypt, and it also operates in Saudi Arabia. FriendyCar is affiliated with FriendyM, a sister company focused on vehicle maintenance and fleet management that separately raised $3.2 million in funding in 2024. The service is available as a mobile app on Android as well as through its website.
