FilKhedma

FilKhedma is an Egyptian home-services marketplace founded in 2014 by Omar Ramadan, connecting households with vetted, certified technicians for air-conditioning maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, furniture and carpet cleaning, gas water-heater repair, and general home cleaning. The service, offered through iOS and Android apps in Arabic and English, includes a one-month quality guarantee and flexible, punctual scheduling, and the company also recruits and manages its own network of service providers. FilKhedma raised more than $1 million from investors including Cairo Angels before being fully acquired by South African home-services platform SweepSouth in December 2021; the site's footer now identifies it as 'A Shift South Company,' and FilKhedma continues to operate under its original brand and app in the Egyptian market as part of that group.
