Educatly
Platform that matches students with university programs and careers through self-discovery and AI.
Educatly is an Egyptian edtech platform, founded in 2020 by Mohamed El-Sonbaty, Abdelrahman Ayman and Joan Manuel, that helps high-school and university students choose careers and study programs. Users take self-discovery assessments across dozens of interest and skill domains and are then matched against a database the company says covers more than 8,000 career paths and over 17,000 higher-education institutions worldwide, with particular emphasis on study-abroad options. The platform offers a free tier for individual students to explore and compare programs, alongside paid services for schools, universities and other institutional partners, plus career-realignment services for professionals. Educatly raised a $1 million pre-seed round in November 2021 and a further $2.5 million seed round in 2024 from investors including TLcom Capital, Plus VC and Enterprise Ireland (with backing tied to both the Irish and Egyptian governments), and has said it plans to expand across the MENA region.
