Baly

Baly is an Iraqi super app offering in-city, intercity and airport ride-hailing, bike taxis, food delivery from more than a thousand restaurants, parcel sending through Baly Box, and digital goods such as gift and game cards. Founded in Baghdad in 2021 by Munqith Alazzawi and Matteo Mantovani with backing from Rocket Internet, it raised a $10.5 million seed round in January 2022 from Kingsway Capital, MSA Capital, Global Founders Capital, Vostok Ventures, Majid Al Futtaim and March Holding, then the largest seed round in Iraqi tech history. The Arabic-language app now covers nine governorates and reports more than 10 million downloads.
