Almentor

Almentor is an Arabic-first online video-learning platform offering more than 1,000 courses spanning business, technology, personal development, languages and psychology, alongside learning programs and podcasts. It was founded in 2016 by Ibrahim Kamel and Ihab Fikry, with Cairo, Egypt as its founding base, and today operates with Dubai, UAE as its headquarters while serving learners across the wider MENA region. The consumer app supports offline video downloads, mobile learning and progress tracking, and the company also runs a B2B arm, 'almentor for Business,' used by more than 250 organizations for employee training with unlimited access, offline capability and performance reporting. Almentor has raised institutional funding across several rounds: a $3.5M seed in 2016, a $4.5M Series A in 2019 led by Egypt's Sawari Ventures, a $6.5M Series B in 2021 led by Partech (with Sawari Ventures, Egypt Ventures and Sango Capital participating), and a $10M pre-Series C round in 2023 led by e& capital.
