Abjjad
Arabic e-book and audiobook platform with social features for discovering and discussing books.

Abjjad is a digital reading platform for Arabic-language e-books and audiobooks, founded in 2012 in Amman, Jordan by Eman Hylooz after she found no comprehensive online catalog of Arabic books. It began as a Goodreads-style social network where readers could rate, review, and follow authors, and it received seed funding from Oasis500 before raising a $1 million Series A round from Rimal Capital, JordInvest, and the Innovative Startups and SMEs Fund (ISSF). The platform now offers a catalog of more than 35,000 Arabic and translated e-books and audiobooks under a freemium model, with a free tier and paid monthly, semi-annual, and annual subscriptions, and is used by several million registered readers via web, iOS, and Android apps.
