1001 is an Iraqi video-on-demand streaming platform that launched just before Ramadan in 2023, backed by Al Sharqiya Group, Iraq's largest independent media conglomerate, and founded by Mohsen Khairaldin Garcia. It began as a free, ad-supported (AVOD) service and later added subscription (SVOD) tiers offering ad-free access to premium content. The catalog mixes original Iraqi productions with licensed international content, including Korean dramas, alongside live sports such as La Liga football matches. The platform reportedly attracted over a million users within its first three weeks, about 80% of them in Iraq, and is available through iOS and Android apps as well as the web.
