Thndr

Thndr is an Egyptian digital investment platform whose app lets retail users open a brokerage account and invest in Egyptian and US stocks, mutual funds, fixed-income and savings funds and gold, with no minimum to start and built-in educational content and a market simulator. It is licensed by Egypt's Financial Regulatory Authority; its August 2020 licence was the first new brokerage licence issued in the country in over a decade. Founded in 2020 by Ahmad Hammouda and Seif Amr and backed by Y Combinator, Tiger Global and Prosus, Thndr reports more than 4 million users and $4.2 billion in trading volume in 2024.
