NOW Money is a Dubai-based fintech that gives employers a digital payroll service and gives their low-income, mostly migrant workers a mobile bank account with a payment card, low-cost remittances, bill payments and mobile top-ups. The account carries no monthly fee and the app supports ten languages including English, Hindi, Urdu, Tagalog, Bangla and Arabic. Founded in 2016 by Ian Dillon and Katharine Budd, it has raised funding from Anthemis, Accion Venture Lab, Wamda and others, and reports paying out more than AED 2.8 billion in salaries to the workers of over 510 employers.
