NodeShift is a cloud platform that aggregates GPU and CPU virtual machines and storage from independent data centers and decentralized networks behind a single API, and has expanded into a sovereign, air-gapped generative AI platform that lets regulated organizations run open-source and commercial models on-premises with Arabic and English assistants. Founded in January 2023 by former Cisco engineers Andrey Surkov and Mihai Mărcuță and now headquartered in Abu Dhabi, it raised a $3.2 million seed led by Inovo.vc in 2024, joined Hub71 and Presight's AI accelerator, received a $1 million investment from the Presight–Shorooq Fund I in 2026, and is running a proof of concept with the Central Bank of the UAE.
