FabricAID
Collects, sorts and resells second-hand clothing through thrift stores and an online shop in Lebanon and Jordan
FabricAID is a Beirut-based social enterprise that collects used clothing through some 300 bins in Lebanon and 50 in Jordan, then sorts, upcycles and resells it through retail concepts for different income levels, including Souk el Khlanj for low-income shoppers and the Second Base vintage stores with an online shop that ships worldwide, alongside an ISO-certified tailoring facility and the FabricED vocational school. Founded in 2017 by Omar Itani, it raised a $1.6 million seed round from Wamda and Alfanar in January 2022 and has since resold over one million items to more than 200,000 people; Itani was named a finalist for the Schwab Foundation's 2026 Social Innovation Awards.
