Chari is a Casablanca-based B2B commerce and fintech platform for Morocco's traditional corner shops, letting them order fast-moving consumer goods for free delivery in under 24 hours and layering on financial services such as microloans, bill payments, top-ups, transfers and a merchant wallet. Founded in 2020 by Ismael Belkhayat and Sophia Alj, it was the first Moroccan startup accepted into Y Combinator (S21) and serves roughly 25,000 shops. In October 2025 it raised a $12 million Series A co-led by SPE Capital and Orange Ventures and became the first VC-backed Moroccan company licensed as a payment institution by Bank Al-Maghrib.
