Abwaab is an online learning platform for secondary-school students that offers short video lessons matched to each country's national curriculum, practice questions and test prep, plus chat and video tutoring. Founded in Amman in late 2019 by Hamdi Tabbaa, Sabri Hakim and Hussein AlSarabi, it serves students in Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and, through its 2021 acquisition of Edmatrix, Pakistan. Some content is free with paid annual subscriptions for full access, and the company raised a $20 million Series A led by BECO Capital in November 2021, bringing total funding to about $25 million.
